EXTRAORDINARY VISITATION AT DON BOSCO ASHALAYAM, NEW DELHI

Rev. Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Regional Superior for South Asia made his extraordinary visit to Don Bosco Ashalayam on 19th February 2018, and 20th February 2018. After a short prayer service conducted by the community he gave a conference to the Salesians.

During the morning assembly, the children of Ashalayam welcomed Fr. Maria with a garland and a bouquet. During his address to the children, Fr. Maria said that Don Bosco always had a special love for children. It is Don Bosco who has brought them to Ashalayam to be better citizens of this country. He also encouraged the children to pursue their studies and other activities which could be on value-based education.

He visited various sub-centres run by Ashalayam community including Don Bosco Railway Childline at Anand Vihar. He met the Director of Anand Vihar ChildLine and SHO of GRPF, Anand Vihar.

In the evening, at 4:30 p.m., he addressed the staff of Ashalayam. There were about 60 staff members present. He thanked them on behalf of the Rector Major for their dedication and self-sacrifice.

Later he celebrated the Holy Eucharist for the community in which Snehalaya sisters (FMA) were present. He had dinner together with the sisters and collaborators.

During his two days of visit, he met the confreres individually and in groups as part of his visit. Some of the staff members were met by him individually. He also visited Snehalaya.

The extraordinary visit was a moment of grace and renewal for the community in Don Bosco,  Ashalayam. The community expressed gratitude to Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga for his encouragement and love in the name of the Rector Major.
