Flood Relief Work in Kerela

New Delhi, Alaknanda, September 1, 2018: One of the reasons of flood in Kerela was caused by torrential rain in the month of August.  At this moment of suffering many generous people have stepped forward to support the flood affected people.

Fr. Babu Varghese, the principal of Don Bosco School has engaged himself actively in this relief work. He has visited families affected by the flood. People are busy cleaning their houses, they are exhausted however they have a positive outlook who think that nothing worse has happened in spite of the material losses.

The wells are dirty and drinking water is a problem. So Fr. Babu got the team of professionals to pump out the water and clean up the well. So far they have cleaned up 36 open wells. For some families got the water pumps repaired and for some the new water pump has been provided.

Families are also provided with rice, grocery and bottled drinking water. 500 Kgs of rice, 75 bed sheets, mattress, 25 blankets, 50 towels, 50 door mats and 50 lungis and distributed to 25 families.  Detergents were also provided to clean the floor.

Fr. Babu expressed his gratitude to all those who are supporting him in the relief work. The beneficiaries too expressed their thankfulness to everyone.
