Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, August 6, 2017: It was the most glorious day as BEST CLUB
Enhancement Services for Tribals organized Season 2: Hockey League final at Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi. Mr. Dileep Tirkey the former captain of India Hockey team was present as chief guest.
There were 22 teams who participated in this tournament. The participating players stay in Delhi but originally they are from Jhanrkhand, Chattisgarh or Odisha. The matches were held on Sundays which started on July 2, 2017.
Season 2: Hockey League final was held on August 6, 2017. The day was bright and pleasant in the morning. The match for the third place began at 11.00AM. Both the teams – Delhi NCR and Noida played well but victory went in favour of Delhi NCR.
At 12.30 PM there was another match between veterans who were 40 years and above. Despite the hot weather both the teams showed few signs of tiring and were commended for their efforts and zeal on the field.
There was a solemn welcome given to Mr. Dileep Tirkey, the chief guest, the former captain of Indian Hockey Team by Saloni group of Okhla who ushered him to the stage with traditional song and dance.
The hockey league final between Energetic Club and Milizuli began at 3.00pm which was very entertaining and enjoyable. Both the teams played well. However Milizuli team won the match. The prizes were given away by Mr. Dileep Tirkey and Fr. Babu Varghese, the principal of Don Bosco School Alaknanda.
The atmosphere of joy and happiness prevailed all through and the crowd numbering about 2000 was equally involved in the match cheering the players. Everyone went home with satisfaction and joy on their face. All in all it was a fantastic season 2: Hockey League for Migrants.
