Science, Craft and Art Exhibition 2018

Orisa, Kuwarmunda, Oct. 29, 2018: Don Bosco English Medium School, Kuarmunda was decked with balloons, streamers various decorations to host its first ever Exhibition. The staff and children together were busy making the school look as beautiful and attractive as possible with their art and craft, models and projects. The Exhibition was held on 29th October 2018.

The chief guest for the day Rev. Fr. Pradeep Tirkey, Parish Priest of Shrine of Mary Help of Christian, Kuarmunda and Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. Valerian Toppo, Principal of Don Bosco High School, Sarandamal were accorded a warm welcome with garlands and a lively welcome song. The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Pradeep Tirkey in his inaugural message stressed the need for listening and to make use of the opportunities that come our way. In the presence of students of English medium and Oriya medium and the parents, the chief guest declared the Exhibition 2018 open by cutting the ribbon.

The students of classes IV, V & VI presented both still and working models depicting various themes such as working of Lungs, air exert pressure, sedimentation decantation & filtration, volcanic eruption, pin hole camera, money printing, pollution, use of DC in fan and light, Air is necessary for burning, solar system, water cycle, germination of seed, life cycles of butterfly and a hen, air has weight etc. Students not only demonstrated but effectively explained their projects which impressed the visitors.

The little ones of Classes Nursery, LKG, UKG, I, II & III presented some wonderful crafts using the waste material. They gave new shapes to things like – ice cream sticks, match sticks, twigs, tharmocol, plastic bottles which we usually throw away. Fruits and kitchen sets were made out of mud. Chinese lamps, dolls, mask, flower vase, pen stand attracted the attention of all who came to witness the exhibition.

The creativity presented by the students were par excellence. The exhibition was an occasion for the students to express their talent and knowledge. Indeed, the event provided a platform for the budding scientists to express their creativity and gain confidence.
