Visit of the Regional Superior for South Asia with Salesian Cooperators

New Delhi, Alaknanda, Feb. 23, 2018: An interactive session between Rev. Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga SDB, the regional Superior of South Asian Region and the Salesian Cooperators’ was held in Don Bosco School Alaknanda 23rd  Februaary 2018. The members were as follows: Rector and Principal Rev. Fr. Babu Varghese, Mr. Binoy, Mr. Sebastian, Ms. Ligy, Ms. Stella, Ms Tessy, Ms. Susan, Mr. Joshy and Ms. Vimal.

Salesian cooperators’ presence in the Don Bosco School Alaknanda exemplifies cheerfulness and cordiality following the words of the founder Don Bosco –“Rejoice, do good and let the sparrows sing”. Don Bosco promoted the practice of charity so that in school and at home, in clubs and associations they might be salt and light, especially in prayer and modesty.

Rev. Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga showed keenness in knowing each member and asked the members to share about themselves and their association as Salesian Cooperators. Rev. Fr. Maria apprised the members about the present data and the situation of the Salesian family. He urged the members for prayer and commitment.

Rev.Fr. Maria Arokiam spoke about the Salesian presence in the South Asian Region and mentioned in particular three new groups and their commitments: Charismatic group in Portuguese known as ‘New Psalm’ and its apostolic vocation as ‘evangelization through media’; Missionary families of Bolognia, Italy visiting poor countries and doing family ministry taking the promise (Vow of Essentialities) based on the first beatitude – ‘Blessed are those who are poor in spirit, theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven’; Contemplative Missionaries of Lady of Nazareth in Argentina leading a contemplative style of life.

Fr. Babu Varghese conveyed his appreciation and contribution of the Salesian cooperators in the Don Bosco School, Alaknanda.

The meeting ended with the prayer and blessings from Rev. Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga.
