Workshop on Child Abuse, Violence and Water Conservation

New Delhi, Alaknanda, and Dec.6, 2017: Don Bosco School Alaknanda believes in giving a violence-free atmosphere to the students. A workshop was conducted with this regard by the honourable High Court judge, Ms. Tanvi Khurana for classes 9 to 11. She was felicitated by Fr. Babu Varghese, the principal with a memento and books on Child Protection. The students had a very interactive and informative session with her where she informed them about bullying, eve-teasing, cyber-crimes, sexual harassment, consensual eloping and the repercussions that they can possibly lead. She pointed out that certain things which teens get anxious about have the right time to deal with. The memorable sessions came to an end with her providing the students with the necessary helpline numbers for child protection and legal aid (Childline: 1098; Legal Help: 1516; Police: 100).

Another session with the same resource person was on ‘Water Conservation’. This session was conducted for classes 6 to 8. She emphasized on the ways water is wasted and the urgent need to conserve this valuable resource. She enumerated the key points with the help of the students. The session was concluded with a quiz and a promise by every student to carry forward the message.
