In an increasing complex and competitive world, administrators of Salesian Institutions have to develop basic skills in administration and financial management. During the Administrators meeting held on 28th to 30th June 2019, the administrators were made aware of day to day administration, accounting, statutory requirements and governance structure. As our institutions are governed by the laws of our own country, we are accountable to the Government under Income-tax Act of 1961 and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act of 2010. The sessions animated by Fr. Jose Mathew, Fr Biju Abraham, Mr. Joselyn Martin, Bro. Cyriac Kurias, Mr. Chandan and Fr. Chittattukalam Joseph made everyone present aware of many financial and legal implications. The handbook prepared by Fr. Biju and Mr. Linto K. B. will certainly help the Salesian personnel in administration and financial management of their institutions. The confidence of the participants to maintain basic accounting records was boosted with the many interactions with the experts. Keeping in mind the Chinese Proverb “Failing to plan is planning to fail’, the administrators were also taught to prudently plan the use of available finance.
