DON BOSCO ASHALAYAM, NEW DELHI LISTENING TO THE CRIES OF THE POOR

Don Bosco Ashalayam, New Delhi has been reaching out to over 500 people every day in South West Delhi. The beneficiaries include migrant workers, slum dwellers, rickshaw pullers, daily wage workers etc. Fr. Swanoop reports that many women and children are suffering due to lack of food. Children in the slums look so hungry and weak and wait for small packets of food for their survival each day.
Children were provided with milk and bread. It was something out of ordinary for the children who need some additional nutritional food as they fight against COVID-19. The team distributed milk in addition to rice, rajma and pickle for more than five hundred people. On some days children were provided with kheer, a dish made by boiling rice with milk, sugar, spices, nuts etc.
At the same time a lot of people are still waiting for food. He states that it is painful to listen to their cries as most of these people live in uncertainty and fear. Don Bosco Ashalayam, New Delhi extends their gratitude to all for their kind support, donations, suggestions and encouragement.
