The new National Education Policy 2020 proposes the revision and revamping of all aspects of education in India. A webinar on the ‘Implementation of National Education Policy 2020’ was organized by All India Don Bosco Education Society (AIDBES) and Education & Cultural Dimension of the Salesian Province of New Delhi on 15th May 2021.
The webinar on the National Education Policy 2020 which lays special emphasis on the development of the creative potential of each individual, began with introductory words by Fr. Davis Maniparamben, the new Provincial of New Delhi. Fr. Babu Varghese welcomed Mr. Prodipta Hore, Director of Aditya Birla Education Academy, Dr. Dakshayini Kanna, the Facilitator, and the 60 Principals of Don Bosco Schools of Salesian Province of New Delhi and the Catholic Schools of Delhi/NCR Region.
Dr. Dakshayini Kanna, who has 32 years of experience in the field of Education and currently the Founder Director of Harvest International School, Bangalore animated the training of the Principals on the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP). Dr. Dakshayini’s session enabled the participants to comprehend the essence of NEP, which will help them to integrate the guidelines of NEP in academic planning at all levels. The two-hour session covered the 4D framework of implementation of NEP and gave insights into the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and character required for the holistic development of children in our schools. These moments of learning included experiential learning and the core concepts which include literacy, numeracy, ICT, capability, critical & creative thinking, ethical understanding, and indigenous understanding.
Today, as the existence of schools has become a point of immense debate and discussions in the public domain and as the Principals are going through an extremely exciting and challenging space, this session will help them to reimagine and reinvent education and make it one that goes beyond literacy and numeracy.
