The Covid-19 Pandemic has made many in Delhi struggling for food. Many below poverty line and many who are remaining indoors due to lockdown cannot afford nutritious meals. A large number of visitors to hospitals and their attendants cannot afford a decent meal. Meals on wheels by Bosco Delhi is certainly their lifeline during these days.
The situation in Delhi is becoming difficult with each passing day as ordinary people are running out of cash. Due to lack of jobs the daily labourers and migrant workers do not have a penny to fetch a meal. Due to support from generous donors, BOSCO Delhi was able to distribute about 500 packets of cooked meals daily to the needy people since 12th of May 2021. Cooked meals were given to over 6500 individuals in the past thirteen days in government hospitals, bus terminals, colonies and streets. The Meals on Wheels reaches regularly to AIMMS hospital, Safdarjung Hospital, Kashmere Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narain Hospital, R.M.L Hosptial, Mata Chanan Devi Hospital, Kashmere Gate, Anand Vihara, Bhogal, Jankpura, Krishna Park, Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Budella, Tyagi Market, Govindpuri, Ashram Gali, Vinobapuri , Mehrauli and Nizamudin. The distribution of Meals on Wheels will continue for the coming 100 days.
