9th January 2021 was a great day for Don Bosco English Medium School, Kuarmunda as it witnessed the blessing of the school building and the installation of the statue of St. John Bosco in front of the School building by Rev. Fr. Jose Mathew, Provincial of INN, in the presence of Rev. Fr. Biju Abraham, Provincial Economer and Mr. Remish Kerketta, Former MLA, who were given traditional welcome by washing of hands and showering of flower petals.
The function began with words of welcome by Mr. Valentin Baa, followed by the blessing of the statue of Don Bosco by Rev. Jose Mathew, the Provincial. The blessing ceremony of the school building began with invoking God’s blessings with the chanting of the traditional Sanskrit sloka ‘Asato Ma Sadgamaya, Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya. Mrityorma Amrutam Gamaya’ and the lighting of the lamp. After the prayers of blessing, Rev. Fr. Provincial officially inaugurated the newly constructed second floor of Don Bosco English Medium School. During the short felicitation programme for the dignitaries, Fr. Provincial appreciated the leadership of Fr. Vijay Soy, the Rector & Principal of Don Bosco English Medium School, the co-operation of the Salesian community at Kuarmunda and the people who made the new constructions a reality. He exhorted students, staff and local people to be little lights dispelling the darkness of ignorance. Mr. Remish Kerketta, former MLA too appreciated the charitable works done by the Salesians in this locality.
