New Delhi, Alaknanda, Dec. 22, 2018: The Christmas carnival in Don Bosco School was organized on 22nd December, 2018. It began with a prayer service invoking the blessing of the Lord.
“Love came down at Christmas
Love all lovely, all divine
Love was born on Christmas
Stars and angels gave the sign.”
A reading from the Holy Bible from the book of Isaiah was done by Mrs. Jaya Nag. The students of class VI and VII presented the intentions before God. The students of classes VIII, IX and X explained the meaning of the various symbols of Christmas. The school choir, under the guidance of Ms. Geetali and Ms. Suparna rendered beautiful chords to spread happiness and good cheer. Santa Clau’s arrival amidst carol singing and the peppy beats of the drums played by the students of the school band filled everyone with excitement.
The Rector and Principal, Fr. Babu Varghese blessed the crib and shared his message asking everyone to look for the gift of Jesus in themselves and to try and emulate ‘Him’. Together with the Vice-Principal and administrator, Fr. Bhushan Barla, he released a bunch of red and white balloons into the air amidst the sounds of clapping by the students, staff members, parents and guests and formally declared the carnival open.
The students spent the whole day playing games and enjoying the yummy food at various stalls.For the little ones, a separate section was arranged in the play ground with joyrides and snacks. The staff on duty ensured that disciple was maintained and the children enjoyed themselves with their family and classmates.
The carnival culminated with a formal announcement by the Principal wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2018.
