New Delhi, Alaknanda, August 3, 2018: “Sharing Knowledge is the most fundamental act of friendship…because it is a way YOU can do something without losing anything” and on that note of friendship, the 27th edition of the Don Bosco Inter School G.K. Competition was declared open on 3rd August, 2018 in the School Auditorium. 50 teams from various schools in Delhi took part in this thrilling competition. In his address, the Rector and Principal of Don Bosco School, Fr. Babu Varghese invited all the students present to enjoy and participate in the quiz and further , to explore more proactive learning forums in their own schools.He urged all the educators present to embrace this popular format of participative learning being provided through the quiz.He inspired the young quizzers by praising them for their enthusiasm and knowledge.
After a thrilling elimination round, eight finalists were shortlisted and the final rounds began in right earnest. The grueling final rounds tested the learning of our enthusiastic quizzers on a broad spectrum of topics. The palpable excitement, the jittery nerves, the crestfallen faces at questions unanswered spiced up the quiz and saw the quizzers at the edge of their seats in anticipation of a win. An exciting array of questions for the audience kept them spellbound, who were also being suitably awarded for every correct answer. After an enthrallingtwo hours of close- fought contest with a team of savvy quizmasters – Rev. Fr. Babu Varghese and Mr. Mathew Thomas- at the helm , DPS International, PushpViharemerged as the winners, BlueBells International came second while DPS East of Kailash finished third. The event concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony. Our Principal, Rev. Fr. Babu Varghese gave away the trophies to the winners and presented all the finalists with certificates. Participation certificates were awarded to all the participants of the quiz.
The conclusion of the Quiz brought in a lot of accolades for the organizers by the Principal, Staff and our guest teams and thus we would like to end by saying that “It is not joy that makes us grateful, it is gratitude that makes us joyful”, we sincerely thank all those who contributed to make it a memorable day.
