Faculty Development Programme (FDP) plays a relevant role in enhancing the competence of a teacher and enabling us to realize that a teacher is always a teacher-cum-student. It has proven to be successful for improving the teaching skills of instructors and professors in technical institutes and colleges according to the current context. However, FDP seeks not only to promote productivity in teachers but also to produce positive progress on pupils’ academic achievement and their overall empowerment. The effectiveness of the teacher is measured based on the achievement of the students. As Professional FDPs produce promising outcomes in the learning and teaching practices, it is highly recommended for teachers in Technical Institutions and other Higher Educational Institutions. FDPs should include human skills necessary for collaboration, professional growth as well as management, and leadership abilities.
