FEAST OF DON BOSCO – 31ST JANUARY, 2018

New Delhi, Alaknanda, Jan. 31, 2018: To commemorate the feast of our founder St. John Bosco, a special Holy Mass was celebrated at Don Bosco School Alaknanda on 31st January, 2018.
His Eminence, Cardinal Charles Maung Bo was the main celebrant for the mass. Rev.Fr. Parick Saw Zay Han, first secretary and the Provincial of the Salesian Province of New Delhi Rev. Fr. Jose Mathew, also joined His Eminence in the celebration of the Holy Mass. The other celebrants for the Mass were the Manager of Don Bosco School, Fr. K. C. John, the Rector and the Principal of Don Bosco School, Fr. Babu Varghese, the Vice – Principal, Fr. Bhushan Barla and administrator, Fr. Gerard Majella, and six other priests.
In his sermon, the Cardinal citing the visionary dreams of Don Bosco, asked the young children present to fulfil their dreams and to carry forward the legacy of Don Bosco. He advised all present to be like Don Bosco, to have deep faith in God, have genuine love and concern for the poor and the young, and to make full use of the talents given by God through hard work and honest deeds. Furthermore, reflecting on the message of Pope Francis for the youth, the Cardinal encouraged the youth to use social media and other new channels of communication and technology, positively to live out the Gospel teachings. He exhorted the elders to specially guide and care for the youth as they are the torchbearers for the future generations.
After the Mass, Fr. Babu expressed his sincere gratitude to all present for making this a family feast with their presence. He especially thanked the choir for making the Eucharistic service a meaningful one with their melodious rendition of popular Christian hymns.

All gathered on the school grounds and joyfully partook in the sumptuous breakfast served for all guests.
