It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Fr. Joseph Kezhakkekara, who departed for his heavenly abode on 22nd August 2024 at 9:45 AM. Fr. Joseph fell in his room this morning around 8:30 AM. Noticing his absence, Fr. A. M. Jose went to check on him and found him on the floor. He immediately helped Fr. Joseph back onto his bed. Though conscious at the time, Fr. Joseph showed signs of discomfort. He had some coffee, but soon after, he vomited and began to exhibit signs of pain and sweating.
Recognizing the severity of the situation, Fr. A. M. Jose called for a medical emergency from the Holy Family Hospital. It was confirmed that Fr. Joseph had suffered a severe heart attack. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered, and he was rushed to the hospital. Despite all efforts by the medical team, Fr. Joseph was declared dead at 9:45 AM.
Fr. Joseph had received the Anointing of the Sick before his passing, ensuring his spiritual readiness for the journey to eternal life.
A Holy Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul today at 6:00 PM. Further communications regarding the funeral and related arrangements will follow.
