In the wake of ensuring children’s essential rights such as health, education, shelter, safe water, sanitation, and prevention from child abuse and exploitation, ‘Child Friendly City Initiative’ (CFCI), a civil society movement initiated by Don Bosco Navjeevan Society in association with numerous stakeholders from Government departments, NGOs, clubs and social bodies released project’s Annual Report 2018-19 at Peoples Conventional Centre in Chandigarh on 19th July, 2019.
An interactive session on the planned interventions was taken up by the civil society members and decided concrete actions for the current year which was mainly focused on ensuring the good health of children, concentration on the prevention of drug abuse, child labour free markets and abolishing child beggary with their rehabilitation.
A series of awareness camps by NGOs, formation of child parliaments, Child safety nets, and Caring Community in different parts of the city will be organized to support, promote and safe guard the rights of children.
