Institute-Industry Partnership Day was held at Don Bosco Technical Institute, Okhla, New Delhi on 13th August 2019. The trainees were excited to welcome the members and were eager to listen to the experienced industry partners.
Ten representatives from various industries were present for the programme which began at 10.30 a.m. with lighting of the lamp. Fr Joseph Chittattukalam, the director of the institute welcomed the guests and affirmed that the partnership is definitely the beginning of a new venture which would enhance the current skill training programmes in the institute. Fr Jose Mathew, the Provincial of Salesian Province of New Delhi emphasized the importance of empowering the youth through skill training programmes.
Mr. Rajesh Nath, Managing Director of VDMA India Services Pvt. Ltd. spoke on skilling youth for Make-in-India. He spoke from his industry experience and emphasized that a holistic development is the need of the hour today. Mr. Deepak Aran, Director of Contrinex Automation Pvt. Ltd. gave a presentation on sensors and the working of the same in details. It was really an eye-opening for the trainees as they came to know many facts about sensors. Mr. Manish Sinha, Vice President of SMS India Pvt. Ltd. spoke on what to focus on during the skill training journey. He said that sincerity and commitment is very important during the training period as well as during the working period for success in life. Mr. Elias Pinto, Vice President of Motherson Group who was a topper of DBTI, Okhla, explained about his journey from DBTI to Motherson group. He was happy to admit that what he is today is because of the training he received from Don Bosco and he promised to be of help in shaping the lives of the trainees in DBTI.
A mini Robot was set up for display. After the program the visitors were taken to the printing and mechanical workshops and they were impressed by the facilities available.
