On 12th and 13th June, 2019 the Principals and Vice Principals of the Don Bosco Schools of the Salesian Province of New Delhi gathered in Don Bosco School, Alaknanda, New Delhi, for a Provincial Seminar on School management for quality schools.
The seminar was designed by Fr. Davis Maniparamben in collaboration with Fr. Babu Varghese, the new Youth Ministry delegate. Ms. Sandhya Gatti and Ms. Sushmita Shroff facilitated the sessions on ‘Creating a Happy school Environment’, ‘Creating a culture of innovation in schools’ and ‘Teaching & learning Technologies’. Fr. Davis Maniparamben reinforced the duties and responsibilities of a School Principal. Fr. Babu Varghese presented the strategic plan of the school Commission aiming to promote the educative and pastoral quality of the Salesian presence in schools. He also provided the Principals with the necessary documents to empower them to be competent and professional educators and administrators. Fr. Joseph Manipadam, Education Secretary of Catholic Bishops Conference of India presented the salient features of the draft of the New Education Policy of India. The Provincial Fr. Jose Mathew, assisted by Fr. Biju Abraham shared concerns about the person of the Principal in a climate of true fraternity that characterized every moment.
The main objective of the programme was to train Principals and Vice Principals in administrative skills, make them aware of the policies and documents of school management so as to work towards standardized system in the province.
