The Bariatu Parish Youth Group assisted by their animator, Fr. Deepak Kindo, organised a five-day Bible Camp for the catechism children of the parish during the Summer Holidays from 30th May- 3rd June, 2022. In spite of the scorching heat, 106 Children and teenagers between the age group of 4 to 17 years attended the camp. The day’s programme used to commence with the Holy Mass at 6.00 am and come to an end by 10:30 am. The participants were provided with Breakfast every day.
The Parish Youth President Nilesh Moon Lakra and Vice President Purnima Lakra were assisted by 10 other volunteers to execute this event. on the first day, Fr. Deepak Kindo, the Director at DBYES gave a brief introduction about the various books of the Bible and taught the Children how to pray with the Bible and the importance of Word of God in the life of a Christian Youth. The songs based on the Bible quotations were taught by Miss Akanksha Xaxa, a youth from the parish who is qualified in Vocal Music till 5th Grade. The Parish band led by Aman and Aneesh helped out with musical accompaniment in singing prayer and action songs.
the Participates were divided into small groups with a mentor to guide them. The competitions like the Bible quiz, the Bible Skit, Learning the Biblical quotations, Fancy Dress, Drawing etc. were conducted which kept the competitive spirit alive among the participants. The Cultural programme was organized on the final day where Children put up colourful performances. Finally, the camp was concluded with a group dance which was enjoyed by all. The participants considered themselves fortunate to be able to participate in the Bible camp. Theis Bible based programmes also facilitated the young ones to have interactions with their peer groups. They returned home with lots of enthusiasm and new energy to live their Christian life in a better and fruitful way. They also received beautiful mementos to re-live their memories of the camp days.
